On Sunday the Falcons made a bad team look worse, and beat up the Colts 31-7. The breakout player of the day was WR Julio Jones who had 2 huge TD catches, each over 50 yards, with one going for a whopping 80 yards. This is the type of production that led Atlanta to trade up in the draft to select Jones. It was easily his best day as a pro finishing with 3 catches for 131 yards. Matt Ryan was steady, going 14-24 for 3 TD’s and only 1 INT. All in all it was a good performance against a very sloppy, disorganized defense. You would except nothing less as Falcons fans. This was a game that needed to be won to keep up with the Saints at the top of the division.
Defensively Atlanta was strong, holding a meager Colts offense to only 186 total yards. They turned Indy over twice, once on a fumble and once on a pick.
